DUBLIN -- Police arrested 12 people Wednesday during aprostitution sting in Dublin.
The sting targeted people advertising services on the Internet,said Dublin Police Lt. Linda Thuman.
Ten women and two men were taken into custody at an undisclosedsite in the city. Police would not release any further details onthe location.
The all-day operation by the department's special investigationofficers was conducted after police received information of anexisting prostitution, Thuman said. Stings of this nature are doneperiodically whenever the department senses a problem, she said.
"Enforcement activities tend to make a reduction, for hopefullyan extended period of time," she said.
