QLD:Wivenhoe Dam to start dumping water
BRISBANE, Feb 20 AAP - The Wivenhoe Dam, designed to absorb water which could otherwise
flood Brisbane, will begin to dump water from Sunday morning.
A nine-day release will temporarily reduce the level of Wivenhoe Dam to 75 per cent.
At 100 per cent, the dam is holding its maximum allowable capacity of drinking water.
However, its true total capacity is actually more than twice that to absorb flooding.
